Activity Overview

Looking for a Lego set to put your building skills to the test? Look no further and try the CMS detector Lego model. 250 models will be given daily to children who take up the challenge.

Point 5 - CMS

Ready for some competition? Create your own particle detector using Lego bricks. Whether you are 4 or 94 years old (or somewhere in between), we look forward to seeing your design, construction and naming skills in action. Exciting prizes will be given out for the best designs. Find out more at https://byopd.org/cern2019.

Point 1 - ATLAS

Come and see presentations and explanations of the CAD (computer-aided design) and virtual-reality tools used at CERN, including the software needed to design and produce 3D models of the components of experiments at CERN.

Point 2 - ALICE

Come to this visit point to learn how to recognize and care for a person in cardiac arrest, through a playful and interactive race.

Prévessin

Find out about the range of career opportunities on offer and discover the exciting world and unique culture of CERN.

Meyrin

Find out about the Axion Solar Telescope (CAST), which searches for candidate particles for dark matter and dark energy from the Sun. The telescope is made from a prototype of a magnet for the LHC, and tracks the Sun for 100 minutes in the morning.

Point 8 - LHCb
Point 8 - LHCb

Discover how CERN gives back knowledge and technologies to society, the Laboratory's impact all over the world and its future plans to stimulate scientific curiosity in the public at large. Discover also CERN's Science Gateway project for a new scientific education and outreach centre designed by world-renowned architects Renzo Piano Building Workshop.

Point 1 - ATLAS

If you worked at CERN before, come and discover what the CERN Alumni Network, launched in June 2017, can do for you. Meet the CERN Alumni Relations team and leave with an awesome souvenir and a high-energy network to connect with.
